Ashton Food Aid, founded in 2022 by Ruby Abram, is a volunteer-run initiative that provides free emergency food assistance to individuals and families in Preston. Our organization depends entirely on the support of local volunteers and donors to supply the growing need for emergency food assistance. Each week, we receive referrals from healthcare professionals, social workers, and other community organisations, who help identify individuals and families who may be struggling to make ends meet. In turn, we offer up to two food parcels a month per person, helping people access the help they need to get through difficult times.
As a community-based organisation, we believe in the power of local support and strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone who walks through our doors feels respected and valued. Whether it’s a family with children or an elderly individual in need, we are here to support the diverse needs of our community.
We rely on the generosity of our community to continue supporting those in need. Every donation makes a real difference in the lives of families and individuals facing hardship..
You can donate food by dropping off your items at our hub on Wednesdays and Fridays between 12:30PM and 1:30PM. Alternatively, you can leave your donations at Nisa Local on Norbreck Drive, Larches, Preston.
We also accept gift cards for any supermarket, which allow us to purchase specific items to meet the most urgent needs.
Your support helps ensure that no one in our community goes without the essentials they need. Thank you for helping us make a positive impact in the lives of so many.
At Ashton Food Aid, we pride ourselves on being a compassionate, non-judgmental service that strives to make those in need feel comfortable and supported.
We rely on donations of ambient food, hygiene products, and other essential items to continue meeting the growing demand for our services. Every contribution helps us make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in our community.
